Wool/Felt Saddle Pad Care Instructions
Our saddle pads have a high percentage of wool content. To avoid shrinkage, do not use hot water to clean, or heat to dry. Occasionally brush your pad with a curry brush. This will dislodge hair, dirt, and sweat to prolong the usefulness of your pad. Grooming Stones, such as Slick’N’Easy also work well for cleaning the underside of your saddle pad.
Wool pads can be washed by scrubbing the dirty spots with a cloth or sponge, using cold water and a small amount of mild liquid wool-washing soap. Hose all the soap off with clean water and allow the pad to air dry in a well-ventilated area. As you’re hosting, be sure to direct the spray from the centre outward toward the edges, so that dirt, sweat, and hair are moved off of the pad and instead of being pushed into the pad.

I have a young horse that started welting on his spine after rides…the same saddle/pad combo had never been an issue before so I wasn’t sure what was happening. I was unsure about buying a saddle pad from overseas, specially as I could not view the product, I didn’t really see how the claims about shock absorption were possible.. also with the exchange rate it became an expensive blanket — however it is AWESOME, totally worth it, it really does shock absorb, I could feel the difference in my horses movement and in my spine right away. I thought I had imagined it so I got two of my friends ride their horses in their normal saddle pads then put my Thinline pad on, both of them were “blown away” with how the saddle moved less, their horses also moved better and they could feel less jarring in their spines. So excited, highly recommend, just this week I have just this week managed to order a second one for my partner .. can’t say enough good things about them.
