This is one of the finest ThinLine products we have produced.
What is Full Merino Woven Wool?
Merino lambs are sheared, and then the wool is needled onto a fabric backing. The wool quality, length, and density is more consistent than Merino wool on a natural hide. The longevity of Woven Wool is superior to Merino Wool on a hide. Generally, the hide is what becomes compromised after it encounters dampness or heat.
Woven Wool contains no hide. Therefore, sheep are not harmed in the making of this pad.
With Woven Wool, machine washing is simple.
The Woven Wool Western Comfort Pad comes with the same ThinLine features you know and trust.
Shimmable for customized saddle fit with shims made of the same trademark foam.
And the shaped wither profile provides clearance while the ThinLine panels help create a spine free channel.
With 95% shock absorption, provided by the ThinLine foam, this pad also minimizes rider movement creating a quieter seat.
ThinLine’s open-cell technology provides breathability and is non-slip.
A full panel of 100% natural, medical-grade sheepskin woven onto a synthetic hide will be against your horse. Covering the Merino wool, a high-grade quilted cotton pad with a light wool fill. The ThinLine panels sewn on top create a spine free channel. Optional shims may be added under the ThinLine panels for saddle fitting needs or to double your protection.
Care Instructions – ThinLine Western Woven Wool Comfort Pad
Our products come with a full-year warranty provided they are cared for as directed.
Regular maintenance: Dry between rides. Place the pad wool side up in a cool environment, in humid climates use a fan to blow over the pad. Once the pad is dry, lightly brush it with a pet brush to help to keep the wool fluffy and resilient for the next ride.
Washing and drying: Sheepskin saddle pads are best washed by hand in cold water. Use a soap designed for sheepskin to keep your pad under warranty. You may machine wash (although hand wash is preferred) in a front loader, no agitators against the ThinLine panels, gentle wash cycle, cold. Remove excess water in the pad by squeezing the water out or placing in your washing machine on the spin cycle.
ThinLine Sheepskin products are made with 100% medical grade merino wool on a real (non-synthetic) hide. For maintenance, we recommend brushing the sheepskin often to keep it fluffy. When not in use, we recommend to stored ThinLine Panels down, leaving the sheepskin side up.
We recommend Eucalan sheepskin wash. Use cold water and be sure to rinse thoroughly. Use spin cycle in washer or squeeze by hand. Allow drying naturally. No heat source: no sun or dryers. Move and stretch the leather as it dries. To speed up the drying process, you can place paper towels or Sham Wow towels in the shim pocket of the ThinLine Ultra Panel. Don’t pull on the fibres until dry. Your pad will arrive with a free single-use pod of Eucalan and comes with a year warranty if care instructions are followed. Please do not use MELP on our saddle pads
When the care instructions are followed properly, our sheepskin pads are proving to have an expected 4-5 years of use.
