Are sheeps getting harmed by making the Dressage Woven Wool Pad?
Woven Wool contains no hide. Therefore, sheep are not harmed in the making of this pad.
Merino lambs are sheared, and then the wool is needled onto a fabric backing.
The wool quality, length, and density are more consistent than Merino wool on a natural hide.
The longevity of Woven Wool is superior to Merino Wool on a hide. Generally, the hide is what becomes compromised after it encounters dampness or heat.

- Rear drop: 22″ – 55.9cm
How do you take care of your ThinLine Dressage Woven Wool Saddle Pad?
We advise you to dry the Dressage Woven wool pad between rides. Place the pad wool side up in a cool environment, in humid climates use a fan to blow over the pad. Once the pad is dry, lightly brush it with a pet brush to help to keep the wool fluffy and resilient for the next ride.
Dressage Woven wool pads are best washed by hand in cold water. Use a soap designed for sheepskin like Eucalan sheepskin wash to keep your pad under warranty.
You may machine wash (although hand wash is preferred) in a front loader, no agitators against the ThinLine panels, gentle wash cycle, cold. Remove excess water in the pad by squeezing the water out or placing it in your washing machine on the spin cycle.
ThinLine Sheepskin products are made with 100% medical-grade merino wool on a real (non-synthetic) hide. For maintenance, we recommend brushing the sheepskin often to keep it fluffy. When not in use, we recommend storing the ThinLine Panels down, leaving the sheepskin side up.
No heat source: no sun or dryers. Move and stretch the leather as it dries. To speed up the drying process, you can place paper towels or Sham Wow towels in the shim pocket of the ThinLine Ultra Panel. Don’t pull on the fibres until dry.
